Situated in what is considered to be the best preserved Moorish Bath House in Europe, the Gibraltar Museum holds a vast display of artefacts, weapons, medals, ceramics, coins and postage stamps, as well as an extensive collection of bones, stone tools and other items of immense archaeological value.

There is also a magnificently detailed model of the Rock which was started in 1865 and completed in 1868 by the officers of the Royal Engineers - it occupies most of largest gallery, and the attention to detail is extraordinary, with every last window in every single building being included.

The Passage of Time Gallery takes you into a cave complete with archaeologists working in an excavation. Then there is the Great Siege Room in which weapons and artefacts from the eighteenth century siege are displayed and the events vividly described. There are galleries devoted to the wildlife of Gibraltar, and a 15-minute film "The Story of Gibraltar" which summarises Gibraltar's long and intense history.
